Will the Real Ellen Howe Please Stand up!

​I bet y’all think Ellen Howe is related to dh’s (dear husband) family!  And you are wrong.  My sister visited Florida last week.  She and I spent many hours obsessing over finding the real Ellen Howe.  We know a few details:  her birth and death dates, the name of her spouse, the names of her many children, her place of adult residence, the site of her grave and her place in our genealogy.  We think we know the names of her parents; but try as we might, we find no evidence of them anywhere on the multitude of ancestry-related websites.  How can we know the real Ellen Howe without knowing her father?
 
I have a biological father.  More importantly, I have a Heavenly Father.  According to the Gospel of John I am a child of God. ‘Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God-- children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.‘ (John 1:12-13).  The Gospels tell us the characteristics of the Father and the effect of our behavior on the Father. Here are a few:  Children of Father God glorify Him by letting our light shine before others (Matthew 5:16); We love our enemies and pray for those who treat us unfairly (Matthew 5:44-45); The Father will reward us if we are generous without looking for reward from other people (Matthew 6:3-4);  The Father knows what we need before we ask (Matthew 6:8); Our Father is merciful (Luke 6:36).
 
What a wonderful Father I have!  I hope we are family. I hope you are my sister or brother in Christ.  All it takes is for you to receive Jesus as Savior and believe in His name.  Welcome to The Family!
